Connect Twilio to send your SMS
You create your Twilio account, paste two keys into laghazel, and your customers get an SMS at each step of their order. The SMS are billed by Twilio on your account.
Before you start
- An email address and a phone number to open the account.
- A bank card or a PayPal account accepted by Twilio (payment in US dollars).
- A few days ahead: in Algeria, the sender name must be approved before the first message is sent.
Create your Twilio account
Sign up on twilio.com, confirm your email and phone number, then describe your project.
Upgrade to a paid account
A trial account isn’t enough: it only sends to numbers you have verified, with texts imposed by Twilio and no sender name. Click the Trial banner, then Upgrade, give your name and add a payment method.
Twilio may also ask for a compliance profile (Trust Hub › Profiles), reviewed within about 48 hours.
Twilio’s prices for Algeria are on twilio.com/sms/pricing/dz.
Copy the Account SID and Auth Token
On the console home page, under Account Info: the Account SID starts with
AC; the Auth Token is hidden, click the eye icon to show it.Get your sender name approved
This is the name your customers see instead of a number, for example DARLALLA: 11 characters at most, letters and digits. For Algeria, it must be registered with the mobile operators before the first message: allow about 2 weeks.
In the console: Numbers & senders › Alphanumeric senders, then follow the request. Twilio asks for a letter of authorization (« LOA Algeria ») filled in with your name.
Avoid generic names such as INFO or SMS: they are rejected. Use your store’s name instead.
Check permission to send to Algeria
At first, Twilio only allows the country of the phone number verified at sign-up. If you signed up with a foreign number, turn on Algeria in Messaging › Settings › Geo Permissions.
Paste your keys into laghazel
In Intégrations › SMS (Integrations › SMS), choose the provider, fill in the fields, then click Vérifier et activer (Verify and activate). laghazel checks the account without sending anything; you are asked for your laghazel password. Then send yourself a SMS de test (Test SMS).
Never share your keys by message or by email, not even with laghazel. Paste them only into your dashboard.
